Black Bore is a herd sire at Ginger Hill Angus in Washington, Virginia. The following notes on the bull are taken from the Ginger Hill Angus website.
“Black Bore was purchased in 2013 as the all time top selling bull from the Cole Creek Angus Ranch bull sale. He exemplifies what we think cattle should be. Raised in extremely harsh, drought conditions Black Bore rose to the top in the outstanding Cole Creek program where cattle are pushed to efficiently harvest grass in rugged dry land conditions. His first calf crop at Ginger Hill was the dominant sire group. The heifers are feminine and stylish while the bulls display tremendous masculinity, power and muscle. His first sons were the top sire group in our 2015 sale. Black Bore has an extremely quiet disposition as well as excellent foot structure. What’s more important is he passes both of these desirable traits on to his progeny. Black Bore lines up some of top grassland cows in the breed. His pathfinder dam records WR 7-106 YR 6-110. She is an elite Angus cow and her record is proof plus. She also produced Cole Creek Goldmere 581 who sold to Chapman Cattle Co. in 2012 for ½ interest at $11,000 as well as Cole Creek Bull Barrel 1353, the top selling bull for Cole Creek once again in 2014 and a welcome addition to our herd bull battery. Black Bore’s maternal great grand dam as well as great great grand dam are also pathfinders with breed leading longevity. His pathfinder paternal grand dam also produced top selling bulls in two consecutive Cole Creek sales, Tequila and Full Bore. She records WR 9-109, YR 8-111. Black Bore is intensely line bred tracing 650x to Puck of Wickwire, 125x to Conan of Wye, 51x to Fabron of Wye, 22x Juanada Lad and 10x Rito 054. We are very excited about his progeny at Ginger Hill and plan to line him up in our pedigrees for years to come. BW-82, WR 114, GR 113, YR 114.”
